This article explains why a claim line may be blocked from deletion and how to resolve the issue.

Overview

Why Can’t I Delete a Claim Line?

Generally speaking, a claim line will be blocked from deletion if there are any payments associated with the Superbill. This protection prevents accidental deletion of claim lines that have financial transactions recorded against them.

Workflow Instructions

How to Delete a Blocked Claim Line

  1. Remove Superbill from Payments - Delete the Superbill from all Payments currently associated with it.
If you believe you will need to re-post the Superbill to these payments after deleting the claim line, make a record of all payments for later reference (Check Numbers, screenshots, Superbill Alert/Note, etc.).
  1. Hard Refresh the Billing Software - Once the Superbill has been dissociated from all Payments, perform a hard refresh of the Billing Software on the Superbill’s page.
  1. Delete the Claim Line - Once you’ve dissociated all Payments and refreshed the billing software on the Superbill’s page, you will be able to delete the claim line.
