What’s New?

Elation Health is excited to announce our latest updates designed to enhance your experience with our EHR and Developer Platform services. All of our releases focus on reducing documentation burden, streamlining workflows, and improving efficiency. Here’s what’s new:

Elation EHR Updates

Streamlined Workflow for Discontinuing Medications

Our updated workflow for discontinuing medications combines multiple pathways - Discontinue, Document Discontinue, and Cancel eRx - into one clear, efficient process. The unified workflow makes it easier to discontinue meds, document medication changes, and send electronic cancel requests to pharmacies. Safer, smoother medication management for your entire care team is now available! Check out the Help Center Guide for more details.

Enhanced Lab Ordering

We’ve made several enhancements to lab ordering:
  • You can now easily sign and hold lab orders until specimens are collected. The new workflow is fast, smooth, and efficient. Refer to the Help Center Guide for more details.
  • You can now associate lab tests with specific diagnoses, improving billing accuracy, clinical documentation, and overall patient care. Refer to the Help Center Guide for more details.

New Bidirectional Lab Integrations

The following bidirectional lab integrations are now available:
  • East Side Clinical Lab - offering clinical laboratory services to customers throughout Rhode Island, Massachusetts and Connecticut.
  • HealthTrackRx - a nationwide molecular diagnostic lab specializing in PCR-based infectious disease testing. They offer fast, next-morning results to healthcare providers across the U.S.
  • Medical Diagnostics Laboratory - a national laboratory offering molecular and genetic testing, pathology, pharmacogenomics and BRCA to customers.
  • Precision Diagnostics - a clinical laboratory specializing in toxicology and pharmacogenetics testing in the Dartmouth, Massachusetts area, with services designed to support healthcare providers in making informed decisions for patient care.
Bidirectional lab interfaces enable eOrdering in addition to eResults, ensuring efficiency and accuracy when placing lab orders and reducing administrative burden and paperwork for your practice. Elation is thrilled to offer these integrations at no additional cost to its valued customers. Refer to our Bidirectional Lab Interface guide for more information.

Auto-Created Chart Reporting Capabilities

We’ve added a new filter for system-generated charts - such as those created from the Booking Site or third-party integrations - to the Patient List report. Practices can now quickly generate a list of Auto-Created Charts, making it easier to identify and manage these records. Providers and staff can also include or exclude these records from other searches and reports. Refer to the Patient List guide for more details.

Medication Lookups Display Medication Routes

We’ve enhanced your prescribing experience with improved visibility for the medication route—sourced directly from Medi-Span, our trusted provider of comprehensive drug data. The medication route now appears when searching for medications in the Prescription Form and when creating Prescription Templates, making it easier to identify and select the correct medication.

Billing Home Navigation Change

We’ve removed the Billing button from the Practice Home action bar to streamline navigation for EHR-only users/accounts. To access Billing Home, use the navigation button located under the Reports tab in the main navigation menu, which ensures a more consistent and intuitive experience.

Interim Approach for Depression Quality Measures

At the end of 2024, Elation released standard reporting for the following electronic Clinical Quality Measures (eCQMs): Elation has developed an interim approach to ensure patients are appropriately included or excluded in measure reporting, which is outlined in detail in the guides linked above. **If you are planning to report on these measures in 2025, please review the guides and follow the instructions outlined.**When automated reminders are available for these measures later this year, we will provide additional updates and guidance. Refer to our MIPS 2025 Overview or Quality Category guides for more information on the program and Elation’s reporting capabilities.

Developer Platform Updates

Attach Chart Elements to Letters

Integrators can now attach elements of the patient chart directly to letters when creating them via the API. This new capability streamlines workflows, making it easier to include relevant clinical data in your communications. Check out our API documentation for implementation details, and start leveraging this functionality today!
