Prior Authorization Info at Appointment Scheduling

Increase the likelihood of first-attempt claim success by entering prior authorization information when creating or editing an appointment. The data automatically syncs to the billing note and claim, eliminating the need to re-enter it later in the workflow.

Device Camera Barcode Scanning for Vaccines

Save time and eliminate the need for a separate handheld scanner. Users can now scan vaccine barcodes using their device’s built-in camera to auto-populate the vaccine form. Both scanning options are fully supported, and the form “remembers” your last scanning method (camera or handheld) between sessions.

Patient Passport Redesign

Patients now have access to a modern, easy-to-navigate Patient Passport experience! The fully redesigned web app introduces Spanish language support, access to multiple charts from a single account, full appointment history, appointment cancellation, attachments on message replies, and self-service demographics updates including Preferred Name and SOGI info. Native iOS and Android apps for Patient Passport are coming soon. Review the Patient Passport practice-facing resources for more details. We have also centralized patient-facing resources at help.elationhealth.com. The menu at the top of the page view lets patients quickly navigate to the Patient Passport resources that are designed to support and answer their common questions.

Preferred Name in Patient-Facing Communications

To better support inclusive patient care, patients with a preferred name documented (in the Full name field) now see it in appointment cancellation emails, appointment confirmation SMS and phone confirmations, SMS opt-in page, booking confirmation, booking patient form header, and patient profile print view. Please note, some clinical and compliance-sensitive workflows still require legal name handling and are being evaluated separately.

Pre-Term Growth Charts Updated to Fenton 2025

Ensure clinicians have current, globally recognized reference data for tracking pre-term infant growth. Pre-term growth charts have been updated with Fenton 2025 height, weight, and head circumference measurements, the global gold standard recommended by the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP).

Annotate Drawings on Reports

A simple pencil tool for freehand drawing is now available in report annotations, allowing users to sketch and mark up reports in addition to existing annotation options. Learn more about the annotations feature in Patient Chart Guide- Annotate and eSign Clinical Reports and Documents.

Elation Note Amendment Diffs

Audit exactly what changed between note versions. Clicking on an amendment at the bottom of the note preview now shows a diff view highlighting what was added or removed. Custom block diffing is coming in a follow-up release.

Clearinghouse Rejection Report

Get earlier visibility into clearinghouse pre-submission rejection data to correct issues before they become downstream denials. A new claim-level report, Rejections Report in Lightning Reports, surfaces clearinghouse rejection data and detailed rejection reasons, complementing the existing post-adjudication denials detail report to cover the full claims lifecycle.

Claim History View Improvements

Get clearer, more actionable visibility into claim-level financial details. The claim history modal has been rebuilt with CPT codes shown alongside corresponding charges and a direct link to financial history for specific charges.

Simplified Stripe Setup for All-in-One Practices

Practices can now start collecting payments immediately after adding a Stripe account. The first Stripe account added is now automatically associated with the default practice entity, removing a manual set-up step for single-Stripe practices.

Select Elation Billing Data Available in the Hosted Database

Hosted Database (HDB) customers can now query reconciled insurance payment data, and link it directly to the appointments that generated it without any manual data stitching required. This first release exposes reconciled ERA details. Review details in the Elation Billing: ERA Matched Adjustment resource.

FHIR Server Now Operating at Near-Realtime

Partners and integrators can now build reliably against Elation’s FHIR server with current data, unlocking integration possibilities previously blocked by sync lag time. All FHIR resources are now in near-realtime sync with the EHR.
