Chart Management

How do I merge patient charts?
To merge duplicate patient charts:
1Open the duplicate patient chart you would like removed (we will call this the ‘Losing Chart’).
2Click Merge Char t in the pink banner at the top of the chart if you see one.
3If you don’t see a pink banner, click on the patient’s name to access the patient’s demographics and then click Merge Chart in Notes & Chart Management .
4Search for and select the name of the original patient chart you want the duplicate chart to merge into (we will call this the ‘Winning Chart’), and click Merge Chart .
What is affected when charts are merged?
All signed documents, orders, messages, appointments and items in the Clinical Profile of the ‘Losing Chart’ (the chart you don’t want to keep) will be moved to the ‘Winning Chart’ (the chart you want to keep). Historical and pending patient payment records and membership subscriptions will also be moved into the ‘Winning Chart’. All demographic information and credit cards on file in the ‘Losing Chart’ will be deleted and not be available in ‘Winning Chart’.

Telehealth

How are virtual visit instructions shared with patients?
By default, virtual visit instructions are sent to patients along with automatic appointment reminders. If any of the following apply to your practice or patients then you must manually send the patient their virtual visit instructions:
  • Your practice does not use Elation’s appointment reminders feature.
  • The patient booked an appointment after the usual timeframe for automatic appointment reminders.
  • The patient’s preferred contact method is Phone.
To manually send the patient their virtual visit instructions:
1Click into the empty space of their appointment.
2Click Send next to the Visit instructions for patient section.
