What is Note Assist?

Note Assist is Elation’s leading ambient scribe clinical documentation tool. It’s built right into your workflow and automatically turns your conversation with the patient into a structured, detailed visit note. Note Assist listens to your visit and generates a comprehensive visit note in a single pass immediately following the patient encounter, organizing the content just like you would.

What are the benefits of using Note Assist?

Note Assist helps you spend more time delivering personalized patient care by creating visit notes from your conversations with patients—no extra setup, software, or copying and pasting is needed. It works with Visit Note Templates and uses details from the patient’s chart, like existing patient problems, pronouns or other clinical details, to create more personalized, accurate notes. Note Assist also tracks the action items you want your patient to complete after their visit, creating a real-time checklist so you can quickly take the necessary steps to carry out those actions or orders in their Care Plan. With custom instructions, you can tailor how Note Assist writes each section of your visit note to match your documentation style, reducing post-visit editing and helping you finish charts faster. To help you reclaim time for patient care, your Elation subscription includes 10 AI-generated Note Assist notes each month. Seamlessly integrated into the EHR, this empowers you to accelerate documentation, lighten administrative load, and stay focused on delivering high-quality, personalized care.

Using your free monthly Note Assist allowance

The free AI-generated notes option will be gradually rolled out to groups of customers until it’s available to everyone.
Every provider-level user has access to create 10 AI-generated Note Assist notes per month — at no cost. Each time you use Note Assist in a visit note, it counts toward your monthly total, whether the note is signed or deleted.

When does my free monthly allowance reset?

Your 10 free AI-generated notes reset on the 1st of each calendar month at 12:00 AM UTC. Any unused notes from the previous month do not carry over — the count resets to 10 regardless of how many you used.

What counts as a use of Note Assist?

Each time Note Assist generates note content for a visit, it counts as one use toward your monthly allowance. Specifically:
  • Starting a scribe session and finishing a recording that generates note content counts as one use.
  • Retrying note generation (clicking the retry button) on the same visit does not count as an additional use.
  • If you delete a visit note draft that used Note Assist, the use still counts — it is not refunded.
  • Editing the AI-generated text manually after it has been generated does not count as an additional use.
