Managing yearly CPT code updates
Reviewing Popular CPT Codes
Using deprecated CPT codes when billing for encounters will result in claim rejections. To avoid this issue, we recommend reviewing your Popular CPT Codes at the beginning of each calendar year to ensure you have saved the most up to date CPT Codes. To review your Popular CPT Code settings:| 1 | Click Settings to open your Elation Settings. |
|---|---|
| 2 | Click Billing Settings . |
| 3 | Scroll to the Popular CPT Codes section of your Billing Settings. |
| 4 | Review each CPT code to make sure they are all still valid and have the most up to date descriptor. Delete any obsolete CPT Codes to prevent them from appearing in your CPT search when you are searching for billing codes. • Update the description of CPT Codes with revised descriptions to ensure your searches return accurate results. |
