These answers cover how practice branding works, what it can show, and where. For setup steps, see the Practice Branding Guide.

Where does my branding appear?

Published branding appears on your patient-facing surfaces: the booking site, patient forms, membership self-enrollment, payment pages, and patient email. On each one, your logo and practice name show in the header, and your brand color themes the primary buttons and a few key accents.

Does branding change the Elation EHR my staff use?

No. Branding applies only to patient-facing pages and emails. The staff-facing EHR looks the same as always.

Does branding apply to Patient Passport?

No. Patient Passport is not part of practice branding.

Do I have to set both a logo and a color?

No. You can publish a logo on its own, a color on its own, or both. Whatever you do not set keeps the standard Elation appearance. PNG or JPG. Other types, such as GIF or WebP, are not accepted. The file must be under 20 MB and under 12 megapixels. For a sharp result on every surface, use an image that is at least 200 by 200 pixels and roughly square.

Why did Elation warn me about my logo instead of rejecting it?

Elation rejects a file only when it is the wrong type, over 20 MB, or over 12 megapixels. It shows a warning, but still lets you use the logo, when the image is very small or much wider than it is tall. A wide image is usually a wordmark that includes your practice name, which would then appear twice, because every surface shows your practice name as text next to the logo.

Can I pick any brand color?

Yes. You enter an exact hex color or pick one with your browser’s color picker. A color is never rejected. Elation warns you if a color is very light, since light colors can be hard to see on a white page, and it automatically shades button backgrounds where needed so the button text stays readable.

Which parts of the page take my brand color?

Your color themes the primary buttons (including their hover, pressed, and disabled states), the booking step indicator, the patient forms progress bar, the membership plan card, and the color bar across the top of payment pages and email. Links, checkboxes, radio buttons, dropdown selections, page titles, and headers keep their standard colors.

What happens on payment pages if I set branding?

Your logo replaces the generic icon and your brand color replaces the color band at the top of the payment card. If you have not published any branding, the payment page shows your connected Stripe account’s own icon and color instead. Your email is still branded. Your practice name stands in for the Elation banner, and your color appears on the bar across the top and on the primary buttons. If you set a logo but no color, the bar uses Elation’s default blue.

Do my branding changes go live right away?

No. Your logo and color stay a private draft until you publish. Patients only see your branding after you publish it, and they never see a draft.

What do I need in order to publish?

At least one of a logo or a color. You can publish a color with no logo, or a logo with no color.

What happens when I unpublish?

Patients go back to the standard Elation branding immediately. Your logo and color are kept as a draft, so you can edit them privately and publish again later.

Why can I only view the branding settings, not edit them?

Your practice has set branding to Admin Only, so only Admin Level Users can change it. Ask an Admin Level User in your practice to make the change.

Can I set a different logo or color for each location or workspace?

Your practice uses one logo and one brand color across all of its patient-facing surfaces. You can change or update them whenever you like, but setting a separate logo or color for an individual location or workspace is not available at this time.
