Elation provides a PHI-free sandbox environment upon request (partnerships@elationhealth.com) so that vendors can proceed with testing the HL7 ORUs independently and also see the results as the provider does in Elation. Once connectivity has been established, a test result will be flowed in production with fake patient information. When the result is reviewed and approved by Elation and the vendor, the interface can go live.
