# Patient, Claim, and Payment Files

> Learn how to upload and manage files for patients, claims, and payments

This article explains how to upload and manage files for patients, claims, and payments in Elation Billing.

## Overview

While all files can be found in the [Document Center](/articles/using-the-document-center), they can also be added or associated to Patient and Payment pages for quick reference.

<Note>
  Documents cannot currently be transmitted with claims and are uploaded to the billing software for clerical purposes only. If you have additional documentation, you may have to print the claim and mail with your documents.
</Note>

<Note>
  Multiple files added at the same time will be added to the same document. If you want them individually uploaded, upload and save the documents separately.
