# Questions of the Month - July 2024

> This article houses the most frequently asked questions from Elation customers for July 2024.

Each month, Elation will compile the most frequently asked questions from Elation customers through our different customer interactions and Office Hours and share the questions and answers with our customers. We hope to broaden our customers' knowledge of our amazing features and share best practice workflows.

## Annotating documents

### A patient sent me a form via a Patient Letter. How do I fill it out and send it back to them via Passport?

When patients send you documents via Passport and those documents need to be completed or signed, use Elation annotate feature to complete or sign these documents. To do this:

1. Open the Patient Letter containing the attached document.
2. Download the document to your computer.
3. Use the [drag & drop feature](/articles/filing-documents-to-a-patient-chart#uses) to upload the document back into the patient's chart.
4. Leave the document as unsigned.
5. Use the [annotate feature](/articles/Patient-Chart-Guide-Annotate-and-eSign) to annotate the document.
6. Sign the document after you have completed your annotations.
7. Attach the document to a Patient Letter and send it back to the patient.

## Connecting to a State Immunization Registry

### Is there a way to pull state immunization data into my patient's chart?

Elation has Immunization Registry interfaces with 42 states. When you use one of these Immunization Registry interfaces, you will be able to query for a patient's immunization history from the connected registry and import that data into your patient's chart if desired.

## Creating Procedure templates

### How would I document Procedures and create templates for them?

You can document

in the the visit note and use the Visit Note Template feature to create templates for common Procedures.

## Sending Prescriptions via Passport

### Is there a way to share prescriptions with patients via Passport?

To share prescriptions with patient via Passport,
[print the prescription to a PDF using your web browser](https://pdf.wondershare.com/pdf-knowledge/print-to-pdf-firefox-chrome-ie-safari.html)
and then upload the Prescription back to the patient's chart. Afterwards, attach the upload Prescription to a Patient Letter to send the prescription to the patient. This allows for more intentional control over sharing Prescriptions and preventing medication abuse.
